Butterfly Symphony!

A very busy week with lots of celebrating including a fifth birthday ( my little Drew) , an 8th wedding anniversary, a new job, new family holiday home, a Christmas tree decorated and still the painting continues ...I'm in the midst of creative explosion and it feels good ... above a new small mixed media piece using music sheets, stamps and acrylics on camvas... a Butterfly Symphony!

just popped in to share a new painting! Quite big this one and I had a great time composing all the colours! Might have to make a purchase of fabulous lanterns for our back courtyard now! I've started adding text and little bits of poetry int my work too, which is fun ...

The Daughters Emerge and 300!

Well Good Sunday Morning All and welcome to my Three Hundreth post here! I can't quite believe I am here and am quietly contemplating all the wonderful things I have viewed and added here over the last few years. Inspiring things abound in blogland! Today I'm adding some of my recent paintings to celebrate 300!

I have been working on The Daughters Series for an upcoming art show and have been inspired to keep working beyond these four and looking forward to what will emerge

They are exploration of the past and the present, the changing roles of women in society and the traits, genes, influences, heirlooms and occupations we pass down through our families.

Dreaming In Constellations

I have finished a new painting and quite enjoyed bringing this Sleeping Beauty to life! She is an acrylic on canvas, with feathered wings and sparkling corset! I am hoping she may go to live on a special someone's wall who is in love with fairy tales!
I am about to dream up a new lovely lady for the next canvas ... I think this man says it best ...

One of my favorite photographer's Elle Moss has created a new book, Alice's Garden containing some of her latest still life work. Click over to her blog to see more!

I adored Woody Allen's film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona". It was witty, fun, sexy and thought provoking and made me want to jump on a plane! And lastly I truly love this photograph by Yvette Inufio, in fact all her shots are gorgeous. You can find her at her Etsy shop and her profile statement alone is worth a visit. It ends with this ..."I definitely think there are two kinds of people: those who walk in a hurry through life and those who stop and notice every detail on the way."

Destiny!

A new painting completed! I have finally embraced all the elements I love ... paint, collage, words and a fairytale feel! I should have listened to that intuition all along, it was meant to be... destiny!

Vanessa from A Fanciful Twist said this on a recent post..."When you let go of things, your imagination has room to grow?" It feels very true for me at the moment! I am creating constantly and letting my instincts guide me! Letting go of old ideas and tryng to listen to what my soul wants! Above...some new works in progress!

Stolen Moments!

A stolen photo today from my sister's blog! We had a beautiful cold wintry day trip to my favorite country town ...Daylesford! It was complete with gorgeous food and art and secondhand shopping! This is looking up at the mist covered botanical gardens.

Lemon, pink, paint and paper collide!

A work in progress today! I am loving yellow and butter colours and pale sugar mint and pink. Tearing pretty paper is something I love to do and have added a lot of to my art in the past, especially in my art scrapbooks! I am enjoying it so much, I think it must continue to happen! And a finished little canvas ... Make a Wish Under the Dreaming Tree! May list this one at Etsy soon! Blossom Bursts abound this Tuesday!!
