It came along so fast  and I wanted to say thankyou to all who have stopped by to visit me and send me wonderful comments during this time! I think I may have a little wander down memory lane today and check out my archives from many months ago and have a little afternoon tea to celebrate!!! I'd love you to join me for something delicious to eat and a lovely cup of english style tea (in a beautiful cup with saucer of course!) Here's one of my most favorite images in my art diary ( from Vogue Living!) to get you in the mood and those gorgeous blue 40's shoes just get me everytime! Swoon!!!

A piece of the puzzle!

Newnightmagnolia
Its been such a long time since I showed you a new painting and this is only a tiny corner of the large canvas I am working on! So a little unfinished sneak peek for you here and I can't wait to keep working on it, but I must wait until we get to the new house and set up a new " painting spot!" So much to do in such a short time and packing all these boxes is like trying to do a puzzle to fit everything in!.... and goodness its hard to pack with two little ones needing your attention all the time, but I will get there, somehow, someway!!!!

Impossible!

300

"Alice laughed: "There's no use trying," she said; "one can't believe impossible things."

"I daresay you haven't had much practice," said the Queen.  "When I was younger, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

from Lewis Caroll's Alice in Wonderland! One of my most favorite books ever, its filled with the most fabulous quotes, insights and thought provoking statements for young and old!
My  sister sent me this link to Impossible Things today and I just had to Share!
PLUS this amazing site from artist Su Blackwell who makes the most wonderous paper sculptures ! They are all a must to see!

Sweet Weekend!

Dec07_jan08_041

A Big weekend was had here in our household ... on Friday Drew started Kindergarten which was very exciting and we cooked up a storm in the kitchen! The boys went fishing too and caught a decent amount for a change so it was great to fry them up too! We made delicious Lemon Shortbreads below ( they are so easy, you must try them!), pasta sauce and yummy sandwiches and above I thought  I should show off these gorgeous lolly tea cups my friend made for her Daughter's 3rd birthday! They are made from Tic Toc  Cookies ( pastel coloured Aussie cookies in the shape of clocks I grew up eating, totally cute!), marshmallows, chocolate freckles and round musk lifesaver lollies cut in half for the handles! They are all stuck together with icing! Easy as Pie!!!! and Cute as Buttons!!!! Oh and I also came across this great blog I am really enjoying reading called the Graveyard Barista ( or what happens when you work in an all night coffee shop!). Take a look if you love your coffee and cake and a laugh!

And here is the Lemon Shortbread Recipe ...

LEMON SHORTBREAD

185g butter

145 self raising flour

90gms icing sugar

1 grated lemon rind

145gms cornflour

2 teaspoons of lemon juice

Method... Cream the butter, sugar and lemon rind. Add lemon juice. Sift the cornflour and self raising flour together. Add to butter and sugar. Roll the soft dough into balls and flatten with a fork. Bake in a moderate oven for approx. fifteen minutes. Then they may be iced with some lemon icing sugar ( icing sugar, a little water and lemon juice mixed together) if you like! P.S . we also sprinkled a little coconut on ours!
