Wings, Crowns, Little Houses, Tea ...good things in December!

 Dear Butterfly Friends, 

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from me! Thankyou so much for all of your support in 2014. It's been wonderful sharing the free Gratitude Calender's each month and having such beautiful feedback from those enjoying using them.

The last month has seen me come back to painting after quite a few months off. Even though I have been drawing illustrations for clients, creating on the computer and putting colouring books together it has been so nice to come back to my first love using my favorite paintbrushes. 

Pretty things with wings and crowns have been forming, little houses emerging and I have had a really beautiful time painting in my backyard under the Jacaranda tree and also in the Cocoon Store on Sundays too. They stock my Colouring Books and Lucky Dip Paper Packs and I thought it would be nice to sit and paint and interact with lovely customers and show off my wares too! I've added a few pics from the store below and they can be found right here ... Cocoon!!!

 

And from my desk at the moment ...Little Paper towns are forming and another lovely winged girl with feather adornments is not far from finished! Until next time, I hope you all have a very lovely holiday, drink tea, have some pudding and cake and let your creative self loose, Shae xo

My New Website!

Good Afternoon Butterfly Frends, 

I am very excited to announce today that The Butterfly Collector now has it's own Official Website! I have been working hard over the last few weeks putting it all together and setting up my own little home in cyber space. The Bee Queen!

Good Evening Butterfly Friends,

I have spent today safe and cosy in my art studio, looking out the windows at the steady winter rain falling in my pretty garden. It's all very gold, aqua and lilac here at the moment.

I have been creating all day ... new drawings, illustrations for lovely people, working on wonderfying my brand new website ( coming soon here!) and making new paper craft fun for my little ETSY shoppe!

 I can't wait to show you what else I have in store this week. Confetti Blossoms!

Dear Butterfly Friends,  I am having lots of fun getting new things ready to add to my shop and creating a new website too. I have also been filling out my Free Printable  "Things I am Grateful For" Posters each month and I know a lot of my friends have been too. Things I have added are my new beautiful warm boot slippers, new aqua heart print gumboots for winter and for having time to draw and read and go to Yoga.

AND .... My fun watercolour painting called Confetti Blossoms just became my newest Pretty Printable. I have given it lots of pretty background colours too... violet, ink, aqua, sky, lolly pink and sunshine yellow are ready to burst some spring and colour into your next creation.

There are so many things you could dream up to make from these ...gift tags, cards, jewellery and they could be added into artworks, collage and scrapbooking projects too! 

I have cut the ones shown here with just stencils and scissors and used a hole punch and pretty string and ribbons ready to attach to gifts!!!

I can't wait to see what you create with them and I will have art prints avaiable in each colour too ... you can visit them at My Little Shop HERE!!!

A Box Of Wishes!

 

Dear Butterfly Friends, 

I made a Wish Box for you!!! This inspired little idea has been floating around in my imagination for quite a while and it seems the fairies and angels tell me it's the perfect time to send it out into the universe.

This idea began as ritual I use to entice my boys to sit down at the dinner table. We light a candle each and then eat and tell each other what we are grateful for in that day or what was the best thing that happened that day. At the end of our meal we write down a wish each and place it in a big aqua jar with a bird on it's lid and blow out our candles!

I thought it would be so nice to share with others and it can be used as a party favour too!

New Beginnings!!!

 

Good Afternoon Butterfly Friends, 

Today marks the beginning of something special, new and exciting.

I have been blogging for many years now under the name The Butterfly Collector, sharing my art works, studio, paper crafts, ideas, making art around my growing boys and meeting wonderful people online all around the world.

It's been a wonderful alias and I'm still in love with the name  ....sooooooo ...it's time, I am excited to announce that The Butterfly Collector is now my official business name. 

I haven't told many people where the name came from... I was watching a Michael Palin documentary many years ago and as he was travelling through India he stopped at some fields where there were beautiful women with their babies and children around them picking tea leaves and putting them into little baskets on their backs. He said it looked like they were collecting butterflies ... and in an instant I felt a connection and intuitively knew I was meant to have this name. I hope to serve many Mothers and Children through my new business journey.

I look forward to bringing you and your children Craft Kits, Paper Kits, Party Kits and Invitations, Posters and Art Prints, Interactive Colouring and Activity Books, Printables and Freebies too! The Butterfly Collector will also have a Brand New Website very soon ... I can't wait to launch that into cyberspace too!!! 

I hope you will join me in celebrations by having a virtual cup of tea and cake,

A New Owl Painting from me today!

My first Kids Collage Art Class at Zeally and Cliff in Torquay yesterday was a Great Success!!!...The kids all had fun and created beautiful paintings to take home! Will you join me for the next one? ... Hurry there are only a few spots left next week!!!...
